We are pleased to share that our Team will begin a new initiative in 2023 to provide behavioral health services to the many private EMS organizations in the Lowcountry with the appointment of a new Private EMS Coordinator. In addition to these companies that provide medical transport to hospitals, doctors offices, dialysis clinics, etc., there are many counties in South Carolina that use private services as the contracted EMS provider, and we want to be sure they know about resources available to them.We are happy to introduce April Miller, who has been a Coordinator on our EMS Support Team for nearly six years, will now be our Coordinator for Private EMS Services. She will be our contact person for anyone in the many private EMS organizations seeking support or services. April is employed with the MedTrust Medical Transport at MUSC after serving with Dorchester and Berkeley County EMS for many years. She is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and recently completed her nursing degree. She has volunteered to bring her years of training and experience to this initiative, and we couldn’t be prouder.
This program will give our private service members an option of seeking help with one of our EMS Peer Team members while giving them access to one of our 25 clinicians who provide the higher level of care many times needed. Thank you, April, for taking on this important responsibility.
