A few days ago, we shared a new look for our Team. Many thanks to Misty Leathers of Signs ASAP in Summerville for her amazing ability to take our thoughts and hope and applying them to our Team’s mission. We have received many positive comments from our social media posts, our conversations with others, emails, and correspondence as we have shared the image this past week.
Many have asked what some of the image represent so we thought we would give you all an explanation:
First, the clouds in the background represent the peace and quiet we all strive for in our lives;
Secondly, the logos of each of our three teams, Firefighter, EMS, and 911 are displayed multiple times on the banner to show that we exist and work together, side by side, to provide the appropriate care for all we serve.
The statement, “A full-service counseling program dedicated to supporting emergency service personnel and their families”. We believe we are a unique team that serves our first responders AND their loved ones simply because we can’t take care of emergency personnel appropriately if we don’t take care of those at home who love them. Our commitment to all of you includes a large group of peer team members, from Fire, EMS and 911, who have trained and volunteer their service to be there for you, anytime, any day, and any place. They are supported by several dozen clinicians who are specially trained to help first responders, and lastly, relationships with multiple treatment facilities, outpatient and inpatient, when the need for that level of care arises.
Then our statement, Hope, Healing, Respect & Recovery, is defined as follows:
“Hope” that we will always be responsive to you and the needs of your loved ones.
“Healing” by providing you with a compassionate and caring environment with caring, qualified people to help you.
“Respect” for you as an individual in a nonjudgmental caring environment while remembering that “we all have a story” and yours is important to us.
“Recovery” with a plan to assist you with all resources available regardless of the time needed.
And then, sublimely, our “Leap of Faith” mantra which reminds us everyday that this Team exists because of believing in God, in each other, and the people we serve, working to do better each day, and taking that Leap of Faith when times are hard. This mantra has served us since the beginning and continues to be our guide as we move into the future.
Thank you for taking the trip with us. We pledge to always work for you.
