Most of you know of our three old Mack fire trucks that are the centerpieces for our community outreach programs.  Whether it is a birthday party, a parade, a wedding, supporting other causes such as the American Lung Association, the Autism Association, or many other great causes, our old buggies answer the call.  We also provide support for our retired firefighters by providing their last ride to their final resting place.

Keeping fire trucks running, some over fifty years old, is a constant challenge.  Many on our Team give of their time to work on them when needed and we receive great support from others when we are stumped by a problem.  Yesterday was one of those as, after our fundraiser, we had trouble with our “Road Runner”.  We called upon our friend, Joe Waters, from the City of Charleston Fire Department’s Maintenance Shop.  Joe same out late on a Saturday afternoon to troubleshoot the problem and get the old truck running.  It is hard to put a value on that type of support but thanks to Joe and the CFD, the “Road Runner” will ride again.  Thank Joe for your support!
