We are excited to share that Laura Hare of the Charleston Dorchester Department of Mental Health Center’s First Responder Support Team has been nominated as the Center’s representative for the state Louise R. Hassenplug Outstanding Clinician Award.
This award recognizes annually an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the treatment of individuals in the mental health field. Laura is one of four clinicians assigned to the Charleston First Responder Support Team office that provides clinical support to our first responders of the Lowcountry. She and her colleagues are an integral part of our Team, and we are proud to congratulate Laura on this recognition.
This prestigious award was established in honor of Mrs. Louise R. Hassenplug, who served on the South Carolina Mental Health Commission from 1987 to 1994. Mrs. Hassenplug worked tirelessly for improvements in services to patients and for increased involvement of family members inpatient treatment, as well as for increased research on major mental illnesses.
