In the New Year, we will be featuring our Team members who give of their time and talent to carry our mission forward. We are fortunate to now have eighty-six members of our peer support team and twenty-four behavioral health clinicians who provide support and love for our first responders and their families. Many of our Team members are trained peer counselors and others support our Team by working our public outreach and fundraising events, driving our antique fire trucks (and many times working on them until after dark to keep them running), for weddings, birthday parties, retirement celebrations, parades, and special events, landscaping at our office or helping first responders with repairs on their homes, all to fit the name “support team”.Simply, they are an amazing group of people who have dedicated themselves to making other lives a little better. If any of you out there would like to join us, please let us know at 843.609.8300 or on our website contact site at www.firefightersupport.org.
So, tonight, I offer you a little sample of those who mean so much to our Team and our mission. Todd and Kelly Musselman are one of our husband-and-wife teams who have been a huge part of us for many years. Todd, a former Mt. Pleasant firefighter, is now a coordinator of services for the American Red Cross. Kelly is involved with Toddlers Wrangles Anonymous (I will let her explain it to you when you see her). I can tell you that she works with little ones daily.
Todd is an amazing vehicle detailer and the look of all our vehicles has improved due to his attention to details. He is also one of our apparatus drivers where you may see him wheeling one of our old fire trucks in a wedding or a parade.
Kelly is a great organizer and is especially valuable to us in planning and hosting our events and fundraisers. We enjoy working along beside her as she always accepts challenges as they come.
Thank you, Todd and Kelly, for all that you are and all that you do! We love you!
