Today, we hosted Chief Billy Floyd and North Myrtle Beach Chaplain Jay Ortiz, their training staff, and fifteen new recruits for their department at our office on Dorchester Road. Our session included an overview of our Team, our mission, and our commitment to all of them.
The classroom session was followed by a stop at the North Charleston Fire Museum, a trip for lunch to Jim & Nick’s before taking them to the Charleston 9 Memorial Park to share the legacy of nine good men. Our former Charleston County Coroner joined us to share her experience before she accompanied them to the Mother Emmanuel Church AME Church on Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston where the pastor joined her to give them and overview of the Emmanuel 9 tragedy.
It is always exciting to work with new recruits starting their careers and these folks did not disappoint. We wish them the very best as they start their journey and look forward to watching them progress.
