The Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team, Inc. is pleased to announce that our Sixth Annual Emergency Services Behavioral Health Summit will be held at the Omar Shrine Temple in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina on July 13, 2023. This year’s Summit will include exhibits, multiple vendors, and exciting new speakers who will share their expertise with all in attendance. Our speakers will be from the multiple disciplines of emergency services including Fire, EMS, 911 Telecommunications, and Law Enforcement, as well as our partners from our available clinical resources.
Participants in our Summit will also include peer team members, clinicians, physicians, EAP program administrators, representatives of addiction centers, in-patient and outpatient treatment facilities, as well as chaplains, other behavioral health providers, and government agencies that make up our network in our communities.
This year, additions to our Summit will include a roundtable for participants to discuss emergency services behavioral health issues, including the early years and how we have progressed. Dr. Tracy Hejmanowski will return this year to moderate the roundtable discussion. Much has changed over the years and our Executive Director Gerald Mishoe will present his program entitled “Where Do We Go from Here? a heartfelt and honest discussion as to what has transpired in the last sixteen years following the tragic loss of nine Charleston firefighters in the Sofa Super Store fire.
Additionally, there have been many behavioral health programs developed across our country and this Summit allows us to come together to share experiences and knowledge to help one another. No single organization can provide services to adequately improve the lives of all our emergency services personnel and their families, but we can work together to share resources. All who have a vested interest in emergency services behavioral health are invited to attend. Come join us for what promises to be a great event!
Register now at www.firefightersupport.org! The cost is $ 65.00 per person with lunch provided. Vendor or exhibitor tables are also available for a nominal fee at the registration link on our website or by contacting Gerald Mishoe at 843-609-8300 or by email at gerald@firefightersupport.org.
