We continue to improve the effectiveness of our Firefighter, EMS and 911 Support Teams by moving team members into leadership positions. Today, we are announcing that Tori Bennett of the Horry County 911 Center has been named to be our 911 Team Coordinator in Horry County. Tori has been with the Horry County 911 Center for five years and was promoted to a Dispatch Supervisor in April 2019.
Tori came to us in support of one of her co-workers following a tragic incident in Horry County in 2016. In 2018 she joined our newly formed 911 Telecommunicator Support Team where she has provided peer support to many of her own co-workers as well as those in other jurisdictions. She is a respected member of our Team and we are excited as she assumes her new leadership role. She joins Mike Medeiros, our Grand Strand Team Coordinator and Melissa Brown-Rabon, our Horry EMS Team Coordinator, to form an amazing group of friends serving our emergency services personnel and their families in their region.
Tori is a Security Forces Combat Veteran of the United States Air Force and has worked with many public safety organizations in her career. She stays busy with work, raising her four children, and tending to her many animals. She is a natural for this position as she states, “I love to train, mentor, and assist my fellow public safety members as well as my community”.
As we move forward, we will continue to seek out and recruit other capable people to take our Team into the future. The success of our Team rests with every single member who gives of their time and talent to care for others.
Please join us in welcoming Tori to new position!
