We are pleased to announce that Alisha Smith, the Training Coordinator for the Florence County 911 Center, has been selected to become our Pee Dee Region Coordinator for our Lowcountry 911 Telecommunicator Support Team. Alisha began her career with Florence County 911 in March of 2009 as a Telecommunicator before being named the Training Coordinator in 2017. Alisha is active in several professional Telecommunicator organizations and is the current 2nd Vice President of the South Carolina Chapter of Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO). Alisha is also a Certified Emergency Number Professional, one of only twenty-three in South Carolina.  We first worked with Alisha after the tragic shootings of multiple police officers in Florence in 2018 and we developed an appreciation for her dedication to the behavioral health of her co-workers, first responders, and the community. Alisha lives in Scranton, South Carolina with her husband, Clay, where they are both certified Firefighters and First Responders in the South Lynches Fire Department. We are excited to have Alisha as a team member and look forward to working with her. Please join us in welcoming her to our Team.
