We are excited to share with you that the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team has developed a partnership with our North Carolina counterparts, the First Responders Peer Support Network, in Eastern North Carolina. Primarily, we will share response resources and training opportunities in areas close to the state line from either side. The First Responders Peer Support Network was created a year ago to meet the increasing need for peer and clinical support for our emergency services personnel and their families. It is led by Retired Captain Eric Stephenson of the Atlantic Beach Fire Department on the coast of the state and is headquartered in Newport, North Carolina. Eric and his wife, Debra, a retired Battalion Chief of Pender County EMS, together bring years of experience and training to their team to support all first responders. We are also excited that Eric has an amazing service dog, Clyde, who will also be available to us when needed.
Our Team has worked side-by-side with them since their beginning supporting and learning from each other as we move forward. We have assisted each other on numerous occasions to help our first responders and their families. This partnership will allow us to continue to access those in need as we expect it to strengthen both our Teams.
Please visit them on the web at www.FRPSN.org or on Facebook at First Responder Peer Support Network. They are a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and any donation to support them would be greatly appreciated.
