Our Team is often blessed with the opportunity to be a part of something special. Recently, the members of the Hanahan Fire Department held a BBQ fundraiser to benefit little Jaxon Lubbehusen, the son of Nick Lubbehusen and Kayla Collins. Nick is a member of the Hanahan Fire Department.
The department and the community came together to raise thousands of dollars to help cover Jaxon’s medical bills when he underwent open-heart surgery earlier in the Spring. Many worked together to make this fundraiser a success and all are to be commended.
Jaxon is quite a special child, having endured many difficulties through his heart surgery and recovery. He is truly a fighter and an inspiration to all that were a part of this journey.
Earlier this week, Kayla mentioned the need for a weighted blanket for Jaxon to help him sleep and to ease his anxiety during his visits to the doctor and hospital. Well, MoJo, who runs our “Operation Zzz” program stepped up and made him a custom fire department blanket fit for a little firefighter.
Tonight, Jaxon was given his blanket by Momma, and by all indications in the attached photos, it has been a big success! Sweet dreams, Jaxon, we all love you!
