Today, we were invited to be a part of a special Christmas parade for the residents of the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.  This facility is home for 186 of our veterans who served our country with pride through several different wars.  They have been limited to exposure to the outside world since early Spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The parade was organized by our friend Kelly Carroll, her family, and her friends to bring joy to these folks for the holidays.

The parade was attended by many local motorcycle clubs, car and truck enthusiasts, antique military vehicles, floats, a beauty queen and of course, Santa Claus himself, riding atop the “Viper”, our Team’s Tower Ladder truck.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were limited in our contact with the veterans, but Kelly and her folks presented each of them with a special Christmas basket.

In the uncertainty in our world right now, it was an amazing day of love and respect for each other that was enjoyed by all.  Many thanks to Kelly, her entourage, and the wonderful staff of Victory House for making it a special day for special people.
