I know that a lot of us have different viewpoints about religion and God and I believe we all should have the right to believe what we do. I am not trying to sway anyone to my way of thinking, and I understand that we may disagree. But, for a moment, please let me share my thoughts with you for what they are worth.
Our Team has been together nearly thirteen years and many people didn’t think we could sustain ourselves with little financial help. Well, we decided to remember what we were here for, and continue to have faith in our Good Lord, in each other, and in all of you that believed in us. We decided to take that “Leap of Faith” when we started, and it has never let us down.
And you know what, it won’t let us down now. This crisis will pass, and we will all have grown spiritually, mentally, and emotionally because of the struggle. And, just to be honest with you, I am worried and sometimes even scared until I catch myself and remember how we got where we are.
Think about how you feel right now. One day, this pandemic will pass, and we will have all had lots of time to learn and remember what is important to us. Never in my life have I enjoyed sunshine so much as I sit on my back porch now and just let it shine down on me. Why now? Because my pup Ellie Mae, loves to lay in the sun and I have learned it from her. I haven’t mastered jumping off the porch and chasing a squirrel yet but she’s trying to teach me.
But, one of the most important lessons learned thus far is how important you all are in our lives. I long for an opportunity to see you in person, to shake your hand or hug you (or both), to sit somewhere and enjoy lunch together, to laugh, joke, or otherwise get on each other’s nerves. Please don’t think I am diminishing how you are being affected but I do believe the future is positive. Looking forward to seeing you is what fuels my hope.
So, take care, my friends, and remember, when the restrictions are off, I hope you will come over and help me catch this squirrel in my backyard. Ellie Mae has dedicated her life to catching it so at least it’s keeping her occupied.
Stay safe everyone… Gerald
