We are pleased to introduce our newest Team member, Patricia Helzer. Patsy is a paramedic with Dorchester County EMS and holds multiple certifications in the EMS discipline. She joins Jennifer Brown, our Team Coordinator, to represent Dorchester County EMS on our EMS Support Team.
The following is Patsy’s personal summary that she wrote on her team application. It reflects her love for life, her dedication to others, and her willingness to walk the path with those who experience difficulties in their lives:
“I have struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my adult life. While working in EMS, I have seen and bear witness to things that have given me PTSD. I know that working on yourself can be difficult at times when we are constantly caring for others. I want to help others see that mental health should be a priority, to continue to be the best provider that they can be. I am on this journey, myself, and would love to help others on the journey with me.”
