We are just a month away until our Peer Team Training Class in Berkeley County. The class, to be held on October 21 and 22, 2017, will be held at the new Goose Creek City Fire Department Headquarters in their state-of-the-art training room.
We’re pulling out all the stops to make this class one of our best ever. We have commitments to present from several of our all-star clinicians to include Amanda Custer of the First Responder Assistance Team in Charleston, Christopher Wells, the Trauma Initiative Project Coordinator for the SC Department of Mental Health, and Sherie Corbett of the Healing Roots Behavioral Health Center in Summerville.
They will be joined by Midlands F.A.S.T. Regional Coordinator Lee Hopkins and our Team Chaplain Doug Farmer who will bring their experience and talent to the classroom. We also expect April Miller, the Dorchester County EMS Support Team Coordinator, and Angie Stewart, the Beaufort County EMS Support Team Coordinator, to join us as well. Our teaching team will be rounded out with Gerald Mishoe and David Reindollar of the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team also sharing their experience and expertise with those in attendance.
There are two relatively short online prerequisites to take before the class. They are listed below:

*Curbside Manner: Stress First Aid for the Street
*Stress First Aid for Fire and EMS Personnel
We will also provide lunch both days prepared by some of our famous local firehouse cooks.
There is still time to join us by contacting Mary Moravek at mary@firefightersupport.org to register. Come and join us as we promise a program that you don’t want to miss.
