Today was another special day for our Team as we hosted the Horry County Fire Rescue Recruit Class.

We started the morning by sharing the history and mission of our Team before our Chaplain, Doug Farmer, presented our ”Finding Balance” program, so important to their development and their future.

After lunch, we headed to the North Charleston American LaFrance Fire Museum where they were given a tour by our Summerville Fire Department brother, Wes Carter. Then, we traveled to the Charleston 9 Memorial Park to share our favorite stories of each of the nine told to us by their brother firefighters and their families. It has always been our commitment to be sure our fallen brothers are remembered, not only as brave firefighters but as sons, brothers, husbands, fathers and friends who loved their families, their communities, and their Fire Department. We are honored to do our part to protect their legacies and to insure we will “Never Forget”.

Special thanks to Chief Ed Begovich and all his recruits for allowing us to be a part of your day. Congratulations to all of you as you complete your training and take your places in the Horry County Fire Department.
