On Saturday, we participated in the ”Healing Heroes” continuing education class in Walterboro at the Lowcountry Regional EMS Office with the SC F.A.S.T. Team. We enjoyed a presentation on “First Responders and Trauma” presented by Laura Tait of the First Responder Support Team and DeLynn Morgan of the Charleston Mental Health Center in Charleston. We followed them with our “Step Up & Step Out” Suicide Prevention program.
Many thanks to the thirty participants including EMS personnel, 911 telecommunicators, firefighters, chaplains, and others who share our love for this mission and who provided excellent feedback and comments in the class that will enable us to improve our materials for our next class.
Special thanks to Mitch and Angie Stewart of the Lowcountry Regional F.A.S.T Team for their work in organizing the class and providing lunch for us all. We are already looking forward to the next time!
