We were on the road today to Conway to present our introductory behavioral health program to the current Horry County Fire Rescue recruit class. We met an amazing group of young men and women who are about halfway through their training to take their places in the department. It is always a pleasure to visit our friends in Horry County while adding fifty-one new names to that list of friends.Today, Lee Hopkins and I joined two of our North Carolina brothers, Eric Stephenson, and Phillip Miller of the North Carolina First Responders Peer Support Network along with Clyde, Eric’s service dog, who brought smiles to the group. Eric’s story of PTSD, heartache, and survival illustrates that even though it takes a tremendous amount of support and work, there is hope in our lives.
Special thanks to Lee and Eric for bringing it today and thanks to all the HCFR recruits for your attention and support for our Team.
