Our deepest sympathies to her family and coworkers......With tremendous grief, the department announces the passing of Advanced – Emergency Medical Technician/Field Training Officer Cherish Marie Eubank. Cherish passed away on April 15, 2024, due to complications from a significant medical emergency. We ask everyone to keep her family in their thoughts and prayers. Cherish began her career with Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services in August 2008 as an Emergency Medical Technician. She advanced her training to become an Advanced – Emergency Medical Technician, and subsequently assumed duties as a Field Training Officer, taking pride in preparing the next generation of EMS professionals to serve the County. The word “Cherish” implies a special love and care for something. Those who worked with or were cared for by Cherish knew she was a personification of that name. She consistently nurtured others, whether it was a first responder in training, a colleague, or her supervisors. This special quality was never more evident, however, than when she cared for her patients. This is who she was and her caring nature didn’t limit itself to her profession. She often provided clothing and other household items to families in need. Her nurturing qualities earned her the nickname “Mama Cherish” to those who were lucky enough to work with her. But those who knew Cherish also knew that her greatest passion in life was being the mother of her son, Kaleb. Details regarding memorial arrangements will be provided when available. ...
