Tonight, we bring 2020 to a close and also the career of Chief Ann Graham of the Isle of Palms Fire Department. Chief Graham has concluded her 35+ years of service with the IOPFD and moves on to the next season of her life. Chief Graham has contributed amazing service to her community, her department, and the South Carolina Fire Service. Some years ago, when our Team began, Chief Graham was one of the first leaders in the Charleston are to step out to support us and our mission of taking care of our emergency services personnel and their families. We have shared difficult times with her as she has always been an advocate for her folks, many times over the years asking for our assistance with someone in need. Others times, we have enjoyed her friendship while participating in her neighborhood Christmas parades or during Fire Prevention Week on the island. Her quiet demeanor sometimes masked her fierce spirit as a leader in the Fire Service. She has set the bar high for her firefighters and her successor as well. We wish her the best that life can offer and hold high hopes for a safe, happy, and healthy retirement. Thank you for your service!
