The Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in American (SPAAMFAA), the country’s premier antique fire apparatus association, is having its winter national convention here in the Charleston thru Saturday, March 2nd. Several hundred members from across North America will be here to see and display both modern and vintage fire apparatus. The event is being hosted by the local SPAAMFAA chapter, Palmetto Low Country Vintage Fire Apparatus Association.
As part of the conference an apparatus muster will be held at the North Charleston Fire Museum on Saturday, March 2nd from 9 a..m. to 2 p.m. Highlights of the muster will include antique fire apparatus, modern apparatus, safety displays and demonstrations, hand-built model fire apparatus and a firematic flea market.
The event is free and open to the public, however, there is a fee for admittance to the fire museum. Please stop by if you are in the area.
