It is always a pleasure to have recruit classes visit us in Charleston and today was no different.
This morning, we hosted the Horry County Fire Department’s Recruit Class for our “Finding Balance” program in our classroom, enjoyed lunch with them, accompanied them to the North Charleston American LaFrance Fire Museum, and then gave them a tour of the Charleston 9 Memorial Park before they headed home in late afternoon.
Special thanks to our Chaplain Doug Farmer for delivering the “Finding Balance ” program, to Firefighter James Eatmon, JBCFD, Retired, of the Museum, and Captain Johnny Hackett, CFD, Retired, and a member of our Team, for their help in making this a successful day.
We were able to share personal stories with them of each of the Charleston 9 as told to us by their families and their CFD brothers over the years. It is important to us that the spirit of our nine guys lives on in those memories shared today.
