On Thursday and Friday of this week, our Team joined our community partners be an exhibitor at the Lowcountry Mental Health Conference held at the Gaillard Auditorium in downtown Charleston.  Over 1200 attendees came together from around the country to network and share our resources.  We were pleased to join our friends of the Charleston Mental Health Center’s First Responder Support Team and the Center for Firefighter Behavioral Health at MUSC to share the work of our Teams.

We were particularly proud to be a part of this conference as it gave us a chance to showcase our Team’s efforts to provide for a comprehensive behavioral health for our emergency services personnel. Many of those in attendance were clinicians and other service providers who received their first exposure to behavioral health services for emergency services personnel. We also learned of many resources that are available to help our first responders and we will be on the road next week visiting programs and facilities that will enhance our Team.

Pictured here are Ashley Lauderdale of the First Responder Support Team office here in Charleston, Amanda Custer of the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team, Laura Tait of the First Responder Support Team, Gerald Mishoe of the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team and Angie Moreland and April Borkman of the Center for Firefighter Behavioral Health at MUSC.

It is always exciting to work with these folks!
