Today was a sad day for the first responder family in our community. We paid our last respects to three of our own heroes. Master Deputy Robert Cart, Retired, of the Charleston County Sheriff’s office, Captain James Woodrow Blume, Sr., Retired, of the Charleston Fire Department, and Paramedic Bronson Rash of Charleston County EMS were remembered today in three separate ceremonies. All three of them had given unselfishly to serving the citizens of our community.
While all of us in our chosen public safety professions face tragedy and sadness while performing our duties, the loss of three of our comrades hits very close to home and hurts deeply. We join all our brothers and sisters serving in law enforcement, the fire service and EMS in extending our heartfelt sympathies to each of their families. God speed Brothers, you will all be missed.
