This past Wednesday, we were pleased to once again host the Myrtle Beach Fire Department’s Recruit Class for the fourth year. After an early morning drive, they joined us at our team office where we presented the “Behavioral Health Awareness class to them. Afterwards, we accompanied them to the North Charleston American LaFrance Fire Museum for a tour followed by a power lunch at the Golden Corral. Following lunch, we joined Deputy Chief Mark Davis of the Charleston Fire Department as he told the story of the Sofa Super Store fire. We completed the day by sharing personal stories of each of the Charleston 9 as it is so important to us for these young recruits to hear of our guys, who they were, their families, their hobbies, the fact that they loved the Fire Service and the impact their sacrifice had on the future and safety of all firefighters. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
