As part of keeping our Team  prepared to take care of our firefighters, EMS personnel and their families, we work to provide opportunities for those who work with our Team to learn about the daily lives of those we serve.  We enjoy taking the clinicians who take care of our folks out to visit fire stations and other places that are a part of our lives. Today, we hosted Ashley Lauderdale, of the Department of Mental Health’s First Responder Assistance Team and DeLynn Morgan of the DMH Mobile Crisis Team to visit fire stations and the Charleston County 911 Telecommunications Center.  These visits gave Ashley and DeLynn a first hand look at life in the fire house as well as an inside visit to our amazing 911 Center.  The day was capped off with a visit to the Charleston 9 Memorial Park where they learned about the Charleston 9.  We hope that today’s activities will give them a better understanding of the events of the last ten years and how their involvement is so important to taking care of our first responders.

Special thanks to Sasha Vargas Fimiani and Marea Quijano-Clark of the 911 Center and Captain Judy and Captain Springs and their crews of North Charleston Station 2 for their hospitality in allowing us to visit.
