Today, our 911 Telecommunicators Support Team Coordinator, Michelle Brown, and our Executive Director, Gerald Mishoe, traveled to the Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton Counties 911 Centers to provide their telecommunicators with our weighted lap blankets.

These blankets are being provided as our gesture of support for our 911 family and, when draped over their laps or around their shoulders while handling difficult calls, have proven to relieve anxiety and stress. We have provided seventeen 911 centers with these blankets to date. We will continue to provide these blankets to our other 911 centers in our state as time and materials will allow.

Thanks to all our 911 folks who have received these blankets so far and have given their input to their effectiveness. Your willingness to use these blankets and share the results is paramount to us continuing to seek different ways to support all our first responders.

Special thanks to the Steinberg Law Firm in Goose Creek for their financial support of this program that makes it possible.
