Congratulations to Charleston Fire Department Captains Pete Salvo and John Hackett on their recent retirement and service to the community.
Both Pete and Johnny were original members of our first team organized as the Charleston Firefighter Support Team in 2007 and have served as peer counselors to many firefighters and their families since that time. They both were instrumental in the development of our Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team and our statewide (F.A.S.T.) Firefighter Assistance and Support Team.
Pete joined the department in June of 1987 and served the community for 28 years. Johnny joined the CFD in June of 1999 after over 15 years with the St. Andrews Fire Department and served the community for a total of 32 years. Great job Brothers!
We will give them a little rest while looking forward to having them continue as members of our Team.
