Lee Hopkins and I will soon be following up on our recent “Step Up & Step Out” Suicide Prevention initiative with another Facebook Live session. We will be sure to give you notice of the time and date so you can join us. Also, our wristbands should be in this week and we’ll make those available to you all when we receive them. We are asking that you wear these bracelets to raise awareness and to demonstrate that we all can make a difference in the lives of those who have lost hope.

As we promised, we will be offering other information to help you help others. Please take a moment to watch this video that we filmed as a part of the MUSC Center for Firefighter Behavioral Health’s “RIT Tools for Suicide Prevention” module in their www.pocketpeer.org program. The Pocket Peer program is a cell phone app that can be installed that will give you helpful information when helping those in trouble.

This following video clip, from that module, is offered to help you understand warning signs of someone contemplating suicide. See how many warning signs you can pick out. We will post some others in the coming days so watch for more and thank you for helping us “Step up & Step Out”!

Special thanks to Charles Lamoreaux and Colt Roy for their contributions to this video.
