My friends, we simply need your help.  We are committed to all of you in our mission of providing behavioral health services and support to our firefighters, EMS personnel, 911 telecommunicators and their families.

Our Team operates on a very frugal budget due to many wonderful volunteer teammates who make things happen daily.  However, we have regular expenses, such as fuel, insurance and maintenance for our two team cars, printing, copying, and office supplies for training materials and other events, professional liability insurance, monthly telephone and internet costs, supplies for our monthly support groups, helping with counseling costs for those who cannot afford to pay, materials to support our “Operation Zzz” weighted blanket program, donations to various Go Fund Me pages for our first responders, and help for those in crisis.  In addition, in the last year, we have added the Lowcountry EMS Support Team and the Lowcountry 911 Telecommunicator Support Team as divisions of our Team that we support financially. These Teams are also staffed by volunteer members from each of their disciplines that are doing an amazing job of taking care of their folks.

We are blessed to be supported by individuals and organizations that give us annual contributions to include the Steinberg Law Firm, The Point Women’s Group on the Sea Islands, our friend, Rachel Cole, Charleston Firefighter Local 61, and others.  We raise money by having our annual golf tournament in May, and we are blessed to have other fundraisers such as motorcycle poker runs and car shows to supplement our budget.

However, there are many other competing non-profit organizations in our community that deserve support so it is imperative that we ask for help from those we serve.   We are asking that you help us by contributing what you can.  In perspective, we have approximately 8500 Facebook friends.  If each one of those gave us a $ 5.00 contribution we could operate our Team for a full year!

Won’t you help us?  We pledge to continue to be good stewards of your support by giving back to you and your families and providing quality behavioral health care and assistance.

You can contribute directly to us by sending your contribution by mail to the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team, 132 Charpia Avenue, Summerville, South Carolina 29483 or by making your pledge on our website’s “Click and Pledge” at www.firefightersupport.org.

Thank you for your help.
