Today was another special day for us as we hosted 36 members of the Horry County Fire Rescue’s Recruit Class with their training officers here in Charleston. We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to spend time with their recruit classes at least twice a year for training in our classroom, a tour of the Fire Museum, and a tour of the Charleston 9 Memorial Park. Special thanks to Chief Greg Chesher for joining us to share his memories of his brothers.
It is always our honor to visit the park to share stories of our nine brothers, shared with us over the last twelve years by their families and their CFD brothers. It’s not about the fire, but instead about each of them as husbands, fathers, sons, grandfathers, and best friends, who all loved their families, coaching, deer hunting, NASCAR racing, fishing, and being dedicated firefighters. May their memories live on in our hearts.
