Friends, as we head into the New Year, we are excited about the future. Our Team remains committed to bringing appropriate behavioral health care and support to our firefighters, EMS personnel, 911 telecommunicators, and their families.
We will accomplish that mission by continuing our peer to peer contacts, clinical referrals, community outreach initiatives, and training programs. We visit firehouses, EMS stations, 911 centers, hospitals, or the homes of those needing our support. We also make many contacts while presenting training classes, working in our community outreach programs, or otherwise meeting with people to provide support for them. In 2018, we have documented contacts and provided help or information to 13,503 individuals.
We have continually worked in the fourteen counties we call the Lowcountry region of our state as well as many other counties outside of the Lowcountry. Through phone calls, our website at www.firefightersupport.org
, and our Facebook page, we have received requests to provide peer support and/or clinical assistance to people all over our state and others out-of-state. Due to a network of other teams and amazing clinicians, we have the ability to make referrals to provide help close to home for those folks.Thank you for your support this past year. We are looking forward to continuing to grow in the New Year. The New Year is looking promising for us all to continue to improve how we take care of each other.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support our Team. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that depends on your support to carry out our work. Your donation can be mailed to the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team, Inc., P.O. Box 80962, Charleston, South Carolina 29416, or made on our website at www.firefightersupport.org. You will be provided a letter documenting your contribution for your records.
Please consider helping us and, as always, we appreciate your support! May your New Year be safe and prosperous!
